i am unsure as to how this place gets 10/10 etc. The room itself is very small perhaps should just be a single room. This matches other reviews saying the rooms are small.Bathroom very small no bath just shower and small handbasinBreakfast ok though it is NOT included (we had to ask for a reduction for the 12 each as it is extortionate for a non cooked breakfast) we assumed the poached egg came with toast but it didn't so we had to ask for that. Cereals not alot of choice and there could have been fresh fruits out. I am letting people know its 12 for breakfast and their are lots of other places which serve better.Room 2 was stuffy as the heating was on previously and cannot open a window. I slept ok but other family member stated the bed was hard and it was too hot.We asked to change to a bigger room if possible so we moved to rm 3 which has a double bed and is light and airy, - window can be opened. Pictures of bathroom in room 3, which is actually bigger than that of room 2. The owner ot on site and is elusive. As supported with many other 3star and less reviews.we contacted Ilya (manager and owner) three times. hence why didnt want to ask about opening the window in room two (if it could be opened).Again i do not understand the high reviews on this place!
Staying at the Doune House was one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had in a long time. It was peaceful and truly comfortable with fantastic service. I cannot recommend the Doune House in strong enough terms.
Needs a face lift
Great stay! Stayed here for 2 nights over Graduation Week, couldn't be a better location, room was very clean and a good size, bonus points for the beds being crazy soft and comfortable, only minor complaint would be the 10 o'clock checkout as it would have been nice to have a longer sleep after the previous day's celebrations, would definitely come back.
