Asked the guy if he wouldnt mind fitting the inner tube I just bought from him as my tools are in storage after moving house...he said no problem, then I checked the receipt and found he charged me nearly six quid!!
I went in and I asked to get a new chain for my BMX he say we have one left so I got him to cut it to size fine takes it back the camp sit puts the chain on the bike put the joining like on my bike and theres a bit missing the clip that slips over the two prongs to hold Everything on that was missing . The other problem is the little metal plate Doesnt fit over the prongs and I phoned and they said I would get anouther joining link fair enough I take it back in and the you boy comes away with theres nothing missing thats the way joining links are and tells me I have to bend the chain so it minipulates on which is just a load of rubbish
Putting it mildly, these guys are unqualified mercenaries. Left my bike there because I was hearing some odd noises from it. They charged me a whole 100 pounds for a full service on the headset, but told me they didn't know where the sound was coming from. A couple of days later I found a massive crack on the fork, which they miraculously failed to notice. Sure, the crack could've gotten bigger because I was riding it for a few days. But, it obviously didn't show up from one day to the next. I'm impressed they failed to even check for cracks like these and put my life in danger (just imagine coming down a hill and your front wheel coming off. doesn't sound too nice does it?).
Highly recommend! Outstanding work and customer service from Alan on my touring tandem! We came in with a number of issues and Alan diagnosed and fixed while keeping in mind our traveling budget. He took the time to fine tune our front and rear derailers (among many other things) several times to get it just right. Alan went above and beyond any experience we've had at a bike shop while traveling. Can't recommend enough! Pricing was also a lot better than shops in Edinburgh.
