Ideal location, just outside of St Andrews. On the main road. Regular buses to and from St Andrews, Dundee, Edinbugh and Glasgow.
Went to watch the football on Sunday. Television broke down half way through the first half I know it's no fault of the staff but the attitude shown was terrible. They really couldn't care less and just turned the music up Not what I would expect a five star establishment.
Great to take toddler to soft play area. Nice cakes and drinks for mum and no fee.
A really good place for a peaceful break...good for families and also for older people.. I've visited Clayton since I was 14yrs old. Obviously there have been changes, but not bad ones. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the restaurant and bar are good. Plenty of play areas for children and adults can supervise while eating or having a wee drink. All in its a good site to stay at.
Outstanding reception staff who are very polite, helpful and very clued up on the site, it's accessibility options, attractions and of the local area. Opposite and up a slight hill with ample parking sits the social building and restaurant, to the right of this there is an amusement area with noisy brightly lit shiny things. Coming back down from the car park and turning into the caravan park you're stopped by a full width barrier which is controlled by CCTV and NPR. Once cleared and access gained you may drive around on good tarmac lanes within the vast caravan park, described as a village. There are statics, lodges, seasonal pitches and a couple of overnight pitches served by a shower block, laundry area, sluice area if required and electrical hook up points throughout. There is also a football pitch and ample dog walking areas, on site dogs must be kept on a lead which is understandable. There is a river walk to the very far end of the site, different lanes from around the site within easy access from caravan site and of course the villages and towns around the coastal area. All buildings for site users are wheelchair, pram/buggy and disabled friendly.Touring pitches are wide enough for caravan, awning and car. These pitches are firm ground (red gravel) with all but one having plumbed waste.Static vans have a generous area around them and those on the downward facing hill have been positioned as such to have a good view between and over each other. Again all tarmac lanes and good and the individual car bay area's are gravelled. Exit from the site is controlled again by full width barrier and CCTV with additional CCTV covering the reception/main road areas. This site was recommended from both static and tourer van users and we were heart set on the site before visiting, on visiting we were not disappointed, everything is clean, well maintained and welcoming.
