Great view of course. Food so so, burger meat tasted off. Service terrific.
Always enjoyable with great views. January menu though could be a little more diverse. Cold winter days could do with a more traditional soup and a hearty stew or pie.
Not visiting here for anything remotely golf related. My walking partner and I often visit here after a good walk out the west sands and back. Pop in here for a lovely coffee beverage and a warm scone with jam and butter or a bacon roll . Lovely coffees and scones and well filled rolls . They do lots of lovely looking main meals that have wafted past me but I've not tried yet. Comfy sofas or tables and chairs and all with a good view of golf courses and hotel. Staff are always friendly and welcoming . Excellent washroom facilities also .
Lovely place to eat and chat. Stunning views of surrounding golf course. I had soup and sandwich - very nice. Staff are pleasant although our waitress could improve with training in how to put plates on tables. She put mine half on table and half off, leavjng it hanging out over my knees. Not good! Place is big and airy with excellent facilities.
Had lunch at Swilcan Lounge after a guided tour of The Old Course. Great view of the Old and the Himalayas courses. Our party ordered the Lobster mac and cheese, seafood pie, pan seared halibut and lamb rump. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The only thing that could have improved was the service in the lounge - it was ok but wasn't as friendly or as efficient as at other establishments we've visited in Scotland. Still worth a visit if in the area.
